Ethics Statement

Please read and agree to the following Ethics Statement and Agreements section before submitting the application for memberships to the Santa Barbara Contractors Association.

  • CONDUCT our business operations ethically and in a manner that will reflect credit upon ourselves, the Santa Barbara Contractors Association and the construction industry.
  • COMPLY both in spirit and letter with the rules and regulations prescribed by law and government agencies for the health, safety and welfare of the community.
  • AVOID any statement or implication which may be misleading or deceptive.
  • DESCRIBE accurately and honestly the price, materials and standards of workmanship used in our job.
  • USE only materials and products equal to or exceeding the quality of those specified in the contract, plans and specifications.
  • ENCOURAGE in every way possible our employees in becoming more competent craftsmen in the industry and to secure for them steady employment, proper working conditions and remuneration consistent with the earnings of the business.
  • REALIZE that our competitors are, like ourselves, business people ambitious to succeed, and pledge to conduct our business in an ethical manner based on fair business practices.
  • COOPERATE with the Santa Barbara Contractors Association in responding to and resolving complaints registered against my company.
Agreements
  • By submitting this form, I hereby apply for membership to the Santa Barbara Contractors Association.
  • All applications for membership must be approved by the SBCA Board of Directors.
  • You must be a member in good standing to maintain access to SBCA programs, services, and subscriptions.
  • You agree to maintain membership in good standing, pay all dues and fees incurred within 45 days of invoice date or membership and services will be suspended, and usernames and passwords will be disabled.
  • Membership dues that are delinquent 45 days, will be terminated for nonpayment and a new application must be submitted for approval. A $50 application processing fee will be required of cancelled and or expired members re-applying for membership.
  • Member will be responsible for membership fees prorated to written date of cancellation.
  • COOPERATE with the Santa Barbara Contractors Association in responding to and resolving complaints registered against my company.
